J/SJOIN OR SKIPINDEPENDENT REVIEWSBack to reviews

Plain-language policy

Privacy, without the fog.

Join or Skip Reviews collects only the information needed to operate visitor voting, review suggestions and deliberately requested updates.

Visitor voting

When you vote JOIN, MAYBE or SKIP, the site stores the community identifier, your choice and the time of the vote. It does not require your name or email address. Your browser also stores a local marker to discourage repeat voting from that browser. This is a practical safeguard, not an identity-verification system.

Community suggestions

A suggestion stores the community name and public link, your stated relationship to it, and any category or reason you choose to provide. An email address is optional and is stored only when you provide one for a requested follow-up.

Optional email features

When you request the monthly newsletter, your email address is sent to Kit, our email service provider. Kit sends a confirmation message and adds you only after you confirm. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe option. Optional review-change alerts are stored separately by the site until that alert service is activated.

What we do not do

We do not sell submitted email addresses, place reviews behind signup forms, or add someone to a mailing list merely because they voted.

Storage and access

Votes, suggestions and opt-in records are stored in the website’s managed database. The private Review Desk is restricted to the site owner.

Contact and deletion requests

Questions about privacy, submitted information or the newsletter—including requests to correct or delete information—can be sent to contact@joinorskipreviews.com.

Affiliate links

Some links may earn Join or Skip a commission at no additional cost to the visitor. Affiliate relationships are disclosed in the relevant review and never determine whether a community receives a JOIN, MAYBE or SKIP verdict.
